St Oswald’s hospice patients get ‘magical’ robot assistance

Youngsters at a Newcastle hospice are benefiting from new technology which will allow them to keep their independence.

Thanks to the 30cm (1ft) device named AV1, little ones at St Oswald’s in Gosforth can converse remotely with family and friends, making sure they never feel isolated.

The robotic, which effectively acts as the kid’s eyes and ears, is portable and managed with an iPad.
