Pakistan plane crash: Fighter jet crashes near Islamabad park

An F-16 fighter jet belonging to the Pakistan Air Drive (PAF) has crashed in the vicinity of a park in the funds Islamabad.

In a statement, the PAF said the aircraft was carrying out rehearsals for the country’s Republic Day parade to be held on 23 March.

Police and stability forces have now cordoned off the website in the Shakarparian location, around a number of museums, golf golf equipment and Jinnah Stadium.

The PAF said it had ordered an inquiry into the bring about of the crash.

Footage posted on social media, seemingly shot from close by buildings, showed the minute the plane arrived down and smoke and flames billowing into the sky.

The destiny of the pilot and co-pilot was not instantly crystal clear.

“Pakistan Air Power stories with regret that a PAF F-16 aircraft crashed in close proximity to Shakarparian, Islamabad for the duration of the rehearsals of 23 March parade,” the air force explained in its statement.

“Rescue teams have been dispatched towards the web page of the crash.”

It extra that “a board of inquiry has been purchased by Air Headquarters to figure out the trigger of the incident”.

A PAF spokesman also explained to Reuters information company that they had been “ascertaining the losses”.
