Troops have been battling to defeat the militants in Mozambique

Islamist militants have killed close to 52 persons in northern Mozambique, police say.

The law enforcement say that the villagers in Cabo Delgado province have been “massacred”, with some beheaded, just after some folks refused to be recruited into the militant team.

Hundreds have been killed and countless numbers displaced for the duration of the 3-year insurgency in Cabo Delgado.

No team has said it was guiding the assault.

A militant group calling alone al-Shabab operates in the location and last thirty day period briefly seized manage of the town of Mocimboa de Praia.
