Jacinda Adern: Australia’s deportation policy ‘corrosive’

New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called Australia’s plan of deporting foreign nationals convicted of committing crimes “corrosive” in a heated press convention with her Australian counterpart Scott Morrison.

It comes just after the Australian govt stepped up deportations of foreign-born criminals in new months.

The move has found hundreds of people deported from Australia to New Zealand, a place that some left at a younger age and now have handful of ties to.

Prime Minister Morrison defended the policy, saying “If you have fully commited a crime, and you happen to be not a citizen of Australia, then you have no correct to remain.”
