Hafthor Bjornsson: Game of Thrones actor breaks 501kg deadlift record

Match of Thrones actor Hafthor Bjornsson has established a planet deadlifting report by lifting 501 kg (1,104 lbs).

Bjornsson, a powerlifter who portrayed Ser Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane in the HBO collection, broke the document at his health club in his native Iceland.

He lifted the barbell for two seconds, ahead of dropping the weights and roaring in delight.

The party was streamed by sporting activities broadcaster ESPN and filmed for Bjornsson’s YouTube channel.

Bjornsson, who is 2.05m tall (6ft 9in), earlier won the World’s Strongest Gentleman competitors in 2018.

Talking in a “driving-the-scenes” movie posted on YouTube, Bjornsson stated: “I’m really happy, you know. I am particularly content.

“It can be terrific – there is very little better than proving people mistaken. So numerous men and women did not believe that in me, so lots of men and women that explained, ‘501 kg is never ever going to go up’… But I also had a good deal of aid.”

He added: “I experience nutritious, I sense superior. I am just totally speechless, even though I’m conversing a great deal now. But I am energized, super energized – this is enormous for me.”

The file was previously held by Eddie Corridor, a British man who in 2016 grew to become the very first gentleman to elevate 500 kg.
