Striker Sala signed for Cardiff just two times ahead of the fatal plane crash

The pilot of the airplane that crashed killing footballer Emiliano Sala was not licensed to fly the aircraft, a report has uncovered.

Sala, 28, and pilot David Ibbotson died in the crash, two times immediately after the Argentine striker signed for Cardiff City in January 2019.

The Air Accidents Investigation Department published its results on Friday.

It claimed Sala would have been “deeply unconscious” from carbon monoxide poisoning at the time.
