Delhi riots: ‘No-one who saw the photo thought I would survive’

A Reuters photograph of a Muslim male staying brutally crushed by a Hindu mob became the defining picture of religious riots that broke out in Delhi in February.

Mohammad Zubair survived the attack after he missing consciousness and was still left for lifeless. Nevertheless, he has serious accidents and spent times in hospital.

He spoke to BBC Hindi’s Debalin Roy about what he remembers of the assault, and why inspite of what happened to him, he has not misplaced religion in humanity.
